Maywood Arts Collective (MAC)

Maywood Arts Collective (MAC) was established on 2/11/22 with the goal of bringing more art to Maywood.  MAC is a subcommittee of the Maywood Green Team and consists of citizen members, educators, artists and business leaders.

  • MAC hosted their first event on Saturday, 6/11/22 by participating in the Creative Bergen Arts Amble.  Twelve artists displayed their work on West Pleasant Avenue.
  • MAC's second event was the Art in the Park on Saturday, 10/15/22 adjacent to the Maywood Fall Festival and Green Fair in Memorial Park which had 40 artists display their work.
  • MAC organized the Winter Holiday Decorating Contest in November 2022 for the 12 Maywood businesses that decorated.
  • The next event was Art on the Avenue held on West Pleasant Avenue Saturday, 6/10/23 which included over 30 artists.
  • During June 2023 & 2024, MAC organized a Yarn Bomb installation on West Pleasant Avenue collaborating with residents, Maywood Crochet Club and 2 Girl Scout Troops.

  • The Maywood Green Team (MGT)/Maywood Arts Collective (MAC) entered a float in the 2023 & 2024 July 4th Parades winning 2nd place both times.  In 2025, the Maywood Green Team/Maywood Arts Collective won the 1st place float.

  • MAC partnered with the Maywood Recreation Department to host live music monthly during the summer of 2023 (4 shows), 2024 (5 shows) and 2025 (6 shows).
  • MAC hosted the second annual Art in the Park on Saturday, 11/4/23, the third annual Art in the Park on Saturday, 10/5/24 and the fourth annual Art in the Park on Saturday, 10/11/25.  Art in the Park coincided with the Fall Festival and Green Fair.
Future potential projects include painting murals/planter boxes, temporary art installations similar to Saratoga’s painted horses and dance events.
