Notice to Maywood Residents: 2026 Optional Sidewalk Replacement Program

The Borough of Maywood is currently undertaking the 2026 Sidewalk Replacement Project. Our contractor has kindly agreed to extend Borough discounted pricing to Maywood residents.

The Offer: Same Low Price: You pay the exact same competitively bid price per square yard (for 4-inch or 6-inch concrete) that the Borough pays.

No Extra Fees: There are no additional setup or mobilization fees as long as the work happens while the contractor is already working in town. Permit fees, if needed, are charged at cost.

How It Works

Join the List: Call the Borough DPW at (201) 845-2920 to register your interest. We will pass your information on to the contractor.

Get a Quote: The contractor will visit your home, measure the area, and give you a written proposal matching the Borough's awarded prices.

Sign and Pay: If you agree, you will sign a contract with and pay the contractor directly. The Borough is not a party to this private contract.

Important Details

Permits & Inspections: The contractor will handle all utility mark-outs and Borough sidewalk permits. The DPW will inspect the work to ensure it meets our technical standards.

Warranty: Your new sidewalk comes with a minimum one-year guarantee.

Scheduling: Municipal work is the priority. Your sidewalk will be scheduled at the contractor's convenience to minimize delays to the borough's main project.

Limitations: This offer is strictly limited to the time the contractor is actively working in Maywood. The contractor can decline your project if they find unsafe conditions or large tree roots.

Liability: Because this is a private agreement, the contractor is fully responsible for insurance and safety, and the Borough is held harmless from any claims.
